Refund and Returns Policy

Seafoods of the World wants our customers to have an overall positive experience with us and our products, so we will do our best to accommodate returns of all kinds. Due to the perishable nature of our products, returns are divided into multiple categories.

We reserve the right to refuse any refund request if not made within the designated timeframe of purchase or if we determine, in our sole discretion, that the return policy is being abused.

IN-STORE PURCHASES

ALL refund/return requests must be made within 30 days of the original in-store purchase.

Unopened, “as purchased” items are those that have been maintained and returned in a frozen state. These items are eligible for a full refund to the original payment method with a determinable purchase history.

A determinable purchase history is as follows: (a) A provided receipt or (b) provided purchase information, including date and invoice total that can be used by Seafoods of the World to identify the valid original transaction. 

If accompanied with a determinable purchase history, opened, thawed, used and/or cooked items may be eligible for a partial to full refund in the form of in-store credit. Seafoods of the World must be notified of intent to return/refund request within 24-hours of using the product.  Upon notification Seafoods of the World will instruct customers how to handle the product prior to physically returning it, including freezing or destroying product. Once product is physically returned to Seafoods of the World, a partial to full in-store credit may be given based on the specific situation. In-store credit can be used at any time and does not expire. Any products returned without a determinable purchase history will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. If Seafoods of the World deems a refund is valid, a fair value in-store credit will be awarded. In-store credit can be used at any time and does not expire.

SHIPPED ORDERS

Due to the nature and cost of shipping perishable products, these items will be held to a different refund/return standard. Please note the different refund timelines listed for each scenario.

Items arriving out of temperature/thawed are eligible for a full refund (including shipping charges) to the original payment method. Seafoods of the World must be notified within 4 hours of order delivery to be eligible for refund. Photos of thawed product and/or packaging, including box exterior may be required. PLEASE NOTE: some condensation will be naturally present in the package.

We cannot guarantee exact delivery dates/times. Deliveries extending longer than 2 days may still be in appropriate frozen condition. Please inspect products upon delivery to determine if a refund is required.

Unopened, “as purchased” items are those that have been maintained and returned in a frozen state. These items may be eligible for a refund to the original payment method once successfully returned to Seafoods of the World. Seafoods of the World will provide a return shipping label, however the customer is required to properly re-pack the order, including purchasing fresh dry ice (at customer’s expense) and dropping the prepared packaged at a UPS store. Upon successful delivery to Seafoods of the World, credit for the initial order (not including shipping charges) will be refunded to the original payment method. Seafoods of the World must be notified of intent to return within 24-hours of original order delivery.

Opened, thawed, used and/or cooked items may be eligible for a refund. Please contact Seafoods of the World within 24-hours of using the product. Refund requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. If Seafoods of the World deems a refund is valid, a fair value in-store credit will be awarded. In-store credit can be used at any time and does not expire.
